Websites with Catholic Content worth Sharing

One of the things I like to do for my Facebook and Twitter followers is to give them links to good Catholic content. In this post, I would like to share with you some of the sites which I use for that content.

VIS—Vatican Information Service out of the Holy See Press Office. This site publishes all of the talks of the Holy Father and covers all of his activities. There is a link to post to Twitter at the bottom of each post and there is a Share button on the top menu bar which offers other social media sites. I have subscribed to their news feed by email and scan each day’s stories to find ones I would like to share.

Catholic New Service—I find the easiest way to get their stories is to follow their Twitter feed I do visit their website for content, but they do not make it easy to share on social media sites from there—which is a shame. It is easy to retweet from a Twitter post.

AmericanCatholic.org is the website of St. Anthony Messenger Press and it is a great resource for information to share. They post Top Catholic News Stories and many other interesting features in a very attractive format. They also provide a Share button to facilitate sharing on social media sites. I love this site.

Thanks, Susan! I am a fan of St. Anthony Messenger Magazine for its mainstream Catholic writing. It is the one magazine I recommend for Catholic homes. Now I will also recommend their website. It is rich in everyday resources for our faith life.

I have also set up Google Alerts (which are delivered to Google Reader) on specific search terms like “young catholic faith practices.”

As Director of Evangelization and Formation for a parish in Los Angeles, and a mother of 5 young adults, I’m very concerned about finding ways to get int the conversation on the social media. Our parish has a facebook page and in addition to other sites I see already mentioned here, I regularly excerpt from these two on our facebook page – hoping to provoke interest from our “friends”.

NEEDS AS I SEE THEM

1. Need for Catholics to pray the Rosary and read the Bible… which few

2. Need to be reminded of the benefits of our faith.
