Secure Justice, Feed the Hungry

It has been a while since I have shared a picture quote for you to download and post on your social media sites, so here is one for the weekend of September 28-29, the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

The description that I am using is this: In Psalm 146:7 we pray: “Blessed are they who keep faith forever, secure justice for the oppressed, give food to the hungry.” In life these words meant nothing to the rich man in Sunday’s Gospel, but when he died and was condemned to eternal torment because of his greed and gluttony, he begged Abraham to let Lazarus, the poor man he had neglected in life, to comfort him. Abraham refused: “between us and you a great chasm is established.” All of Sunday’s readings are here: http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/092919.cfm

Feel free to use the description as is or write your own.

This understanding of our obligations to relieve the oppressed and feed the hungry cannot be over stated. While most, if not all, of the people who follow us online already understand this, the reminder can strengthen their resolve and encourage them to continue.

To use, click on the image and then save it to your computer. Have a blessed week.
