Merry Christmas!

While our world faces many challenges today with wars and other conflicts, divisions of all sorts, suffering, cruelty and brutality on many levels, this is the same world that Jesus was born into on the first Christmas night. Even as a baby his life was threatened, but he came anyway to save us and to bring us peace and joy. His birth brought light to the darkness.

He came to challenge us to bring light to the darkness ourselves and to remind us of all the good that exists. Goodness that he experienced from Mary and Joseph, the shepherds and the Magi. Goodness that flows from his Father’s love for all of us.

During this season we see many examples of people’s love and care for others especially the poor and marginalized. We learn of relationships that are healed and families that are re-united. There are many acts of kindness performed often anonymously.  I believe there is more good in this world than evil and in the end good will win out. Christmas reminds us of that.

Christmas is a season of hope and holiness. Let it be a season that we carry in our hearts all year long.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!

My next post will be in January 2019!
