Following and Sharing World Youth Day 2016
Yesterday, July 25, pilgrims from all over the world arrived in Krakow, Poland for World Youth Day which opens today and concludes with a Mass celebrated by Pope Francis on Sunday, July 31. More than 30,000 pilgrims along with 85 bishops from the U.S. are there.
The theme of the 31st World Youth Day is: ‘Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy’ (Mt 5:7). WYD2016 takes place during the Year of Mercy in the home country of St. John Paul II—the Apostle of Mercy and the Initiator of WYD and St. Faustina Kowalska whose writings spread the devotion of Divine Mercy to the whole world. St. Faustina and St. John Paul II are the patron saints of World Youth Day 2016.

It is possible, even likely, that this wonderful, positive event will not receive much media attention in the U.S., but that does not mean that we cannot follow the events and share them ourselves through Social Media.
