Celebrate John the Baptist on the Second Sunday of Advent
The Gospel for the 2nd Sunday of Advent features St. John the Baptist, the one who “prepared the way” for Jesus. He is a main figure during this season. He calls us to “Repent, the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” He tells his followers: “I am baptizing you with water, for repentance, but the one who is coming after me is mightier than I. I am not worthy to carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” (Matthew 3:1-12)
